At SM Garden Sheds we pride ourselves on our products, our prices and our commitment to customer care. Amongst our tremendous range of garden storage units we sell thousands of metal garden sheds made by the best manufacturers from all around the world. Our metal garden sheds are stylish, secure, practical and built to last.

Sadly, this is not the case with all metal garden sheds.

Metal garden sheds made from inferior materials, poorly engineered and inadequately protected will rust. Indeed we have seen some metal garden sheds that are made from metal that is so thin they could be cut with a knife.

SM Garden Sheds only stock metal garden sheds that meet exceptionally high quality standards. Our metal garden sheds – from brands such as Biohort and Asgard – are manufactured from 0.5mm and 1.2mm sheet steel. They are hot dip galvanised to protect from rust before they are primed and applied with three coats of tough weather resistant paint in natural, elegant colours.

One thing to watch out for when buying a metal garden shed is to ensure it has been hot dip galvanised. Metals are protected from corrosion through a process called galvanisation. With metal garden sheds this can be done in one of two ways. Hot dip galvanisation applies a thick zinc coat to every part of the metal. It is a highly effective way of protecting from rust. The other method is through electroplating which adds an uneven coating of thin zinc to the surfaced of the steel. This layer will soon erode leaving the shed prone to rust in the damp British climate. Security is big on the agenda of steel sheds along with our other high quality sheds.
