Garden Sheds, Metal, Plastic & Timber Outdoor Storage Buildings, Secure, High Quality Sheds
There has been a lot written over the years about ‘man caves’, or sheds where men can escape from the daily grind and engage in manly pursuits. It is generally accepted, and backed up by facts, figures and expert opinion, that this is really a basic requirement and an essential ingredient in leading a healthy, fulfilled life.
There is no disputing this, and in fact we wouldn’t dare, plus we positively support this viewpoint and celebrate the idea of a personal sanctuary where ones imagination can run riot or alternatively where the ‘hustle and bustle’ escapee can sit and stare into space. A shed can be a lot more than simply an outdoor storage space.
There has though been an intriguing undercurrent bubbling up for some time, giving the distinct impression that changes are in the air. The garden retreat is no longer the exclusive prerogative of the male side of the household, as women have decided there is a lot to be said for the prospect of a place to call your own, a little diversion from the weight of responsibility, and somewhere to just be yourself. A personal utopia allowing you to ‘get away’ without actually leaving home.
The phenomenon of the ‘She Shed’, has truly arrived, and is increasing in popularity as more and more savvy women catch on to the trend. Beautiful abodes are popping up all over the place, but these are no ordinary sheds! A completely alternative dynamic with no place for oily tools, dusty floors and cobwebbed windows is presented, as these single story structures become designer cottages, gypsy caravans, celebrity shacks and beach hut lookalikes. The range of possible themes is enormous and the sky’s the limit. There are ‘She Sheds’ which would make any interior designer catch their breath, displaying luxurious Arabian style splendour, pagoda look buildings with lavish furniture and matching cushions and curtains, Tudor house styled sheds, thatched roof sheds, multicoloured creations and even an American 50’s diner shed complete with jukebox.
Well the advantages of having this kind of small scale getaway shouldn’t be underestimated nor taken lightly. Experts say that this type of relaxation is exceptionally beneficial, and can reinforce relationships and relieve tension. A little time alone in your own personal haven at the bottom of the garden can leave you feeling refreshed and rejuvenated, and it doesn’t need to be anything fancy. Women use their ‘She Sheds’ for all sorts of things like hobbies, crafts, dressmaking, writing, art and reading. Imagine your own space decorated exactly how you like it with little touches to make you smile like tinkling wind chimes, dazzling chandeliers, and fluffy rugs. This type of project dosn’t have to break the bank either, you can up-cycle most of the contents and have fun being creative.
